Dr. Shamay Ng is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. She is also the Visiting Professor at the Health and Nursing Department, The Wuhan Polytechnic University in China. Shamay’s research interest is on neurorehabilitation, particularly on stroke rehabilitation. Her current focus of researches includes measurement tools of functional mobility in patients with neurological disorders, and evidence-based intervention in people with stroke. Her research findings have been published in journals such as Stroke, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine etc. She has received several research grants in conducting randomised controlled trials on efficacy of home-based and community-based stroke rehabilitation programmes, and teaching grants in developing innovative teaching methodology in physiotherapy education.
