Biography

Dr. Shan-Lu Liu obtained his PhD from the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, in virology and gene therapy. His postdoctoral training was on HIV evolution and AIDS pathogenesis also at the University of Washington.  After spending five years at McGill University for his first academic appointment, he then moved to the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he is now Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. His major research interests are retroviral oncogenesis, viral entry, and HIV lentiviral vector-mediated gene therapy.

Entry of enveloped RNA virus and viral pathogenesis, drug discovery, and innate immunity.
