Research Interest

My research focus is on trees and forests. One area is the growth, condition and development of single trees, in stands and for the country as a whole. This includes analysis of long term field experimental data, National Forest Inventory data as well as remote sensing data and geographical analyses.
Another area is vegetation dynamics, biodiversity, ecosystem and relationships be Copenhagentween forests ecosystem services and functions, including carbon storage.
Linking the two areas by means of forest management are of importance both from the point of knowledge and for implementation in operational forest and nature management. Hence the research often has an applied angel, and the basic research questions provide input to this.
My approach is mainly mathematical-statistical preferably in interdisciplinary collaboration, and with a strong experimental base.
