Vladimir J. Konecni is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Psychology, University of California, San Diego (La Jolla). He received his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto (Canada) in 1973 in Social and Experimental Psychology. Professor Konecni is a recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship for research, and a research grantee of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. Among his four major fields of research and scientific writing is psychology of music, including its emotional, aesthetic, and physiological aspects. Professor Konecni has published numerous articles and chapters in these areas, the largest group of over twenty articles being on the complex relationship between music and emotion.
