Biography

Wei Gao received his B.S. degree (2007) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and his M.S. degree (2009) in State Key Laboratory of Precision Measurement Technology and Instruments from Tsinghua University (THU) in China. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Professor Joseph Wang’s laboratory in the Department of Nanoengineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He already published over 20 papers in the international, peer-reviewed journals. Specifically, he is involved in exploring new materials and new methods to fabricate various micro/nanomachines (e.g. magnetic nanowire swimmer and polymer based microengine) as well as studying their biomedical applications such as biomaterials isolation and targeted drug delivery. His research interests include nanomaterials, naonomachines, biofuel cell, electrochemistry, MEMS/NEMS and nanomedicine.
