Biography

William R. Brieger is Member of Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society, Alpha .The Johns Hopkins University, May 1992, Recipient, Douglas Leather Award,  1992, From the Editors of Health Education Research, Theory and Practice, Honorary Chieftaincy Title, The Atunluse of Idere Town, Oyo State Nigeria.  August 1992, Honorary Chieftaincy Title, The Otun Baasegun of Igbo-ora Town, Oyo State Nigeria. May, 1994, Distinguished Alumnus Award, Department of Health Behaviour and Health Education, School of Public Health, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill July 1994, Member, Task Force on Community-Directed Treatment of Lymphatic Filariasis and Onchocerciasis (1999) and Task Force on Filariasis Intervention Research (2000, 2001), Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, World Health Organization.

Research Interest

1) Malaria in pregnancy control pilot project in Akwa Ibom State Nigeria,
2) Technical assistance to Nigeria malaria partners in resolving bottlenecks in Global Fund project implementation and Global Fund proposal writing,
3) Studying factors associated with annual compliance with ivermectin treatment for the African Program for Onchocerciasis Control (APOC),
4) Technical assistance to projects studying application of the community directed intervention approach of APOC to other health interventions.
