Biography

Dr. Xiaosheng Wang is a research scientist at National Cancer Institute, U.S.A. He received Ph.D. in computational biology from Kyoto University in March 2010. He serves as an editorial board member of American Journal of Cancer Science, guest editor for OMICS Journal of Human Genetics & Embryology, and host editor for research topics on Journal of Frontiers in Genetics, as a reviewer for a series of professional journals: Journal of the National Cancer Institute, BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Cancer, BMC Medical Genomics, Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics, Journal of Cancer Research and Treatment, and Chinese Journal of Cancer.

Research Interest

Interested in studying the regulatory networks relevant to specific disease based on different levels of data. Also interested in developing algorithms for identification of biomarkers for cancerous classification and prediction, investigating mechanisms that underlie oncogenesis using the computational and systems biology approach. The rapid growth of cancer genomic data such as the TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas), have brought unprecedented chances while challenges for computational biologists to discover the genetic causes of cancer. Future priorities in research will be using the newly emerging cancer genomic data to explore the genetic causes to cancer by integrative analysis of multiple data types including sequence data, gene expression data etc.,development of algorithms for data mining, machine learning and graph theory.
