We use integrated multi-scale computational modeling and biochemical and biological experimental approaches to investigate the fundamental structural and functional mechanisms for biomolecular interactions underlying apoptosis and cell adhesion signaling pathways, develop cancer chemotherapic agents to regulate apoptosis signaling pathway and design and optimize the novel biomaterials for biomedical applications. Methodology development for multiscale modeling to study complex biological systems also continues to be a focus of my research group. The research outcomes could have applications in tissue engineering/regenerative medicine, cancer, cardiovascular and orthopedic research fields.
