HIGHER EDUCATION: 1979-1984: (Grade) Degree in Chemistry in 1984 from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) 1984: (Ms) Master in Organic Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). 1984-1988: PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1988 from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). 1988-1990: Post-Doctorate position with Phil Crews at University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC), California, (U.S.A).to do research in Marine Natural Products. 1990-1991: Post-Doctorate position with Alfonso Tramontano at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, La Jolla, San Diego, California, (U.S.A) to do research in antibodies as catalyst of chemical reactions. POSITIONS Former positions: Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry at University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) from 1989 to 1991, Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Fundamental Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences at University of A Coruña, Spain from 1992 to 2009. Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at University of A Coruña from 1999 to 2005. Current Position: Full Professor of Organic Chemistry in the Department of Fundamental Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences at University of A Coruña, Spain since January 2010 Head of the Department of Fundamental Chemistry.
