Biography

First Prof. Faik N. Oktar had graduated with M.Sc. degree from dentistry (1982)(Marmara University in Istanbul). He got also M.Sc. (1991) and Ph.D. degrees (1999) from Biomedical Engineering Institute (Bogazici University in Istanbul - former Robert College). He had worked in many different departments & centers – Marmara University (Biomedical Equipment Technology Program - New Technologies Research & Development Center - X-ray Technology Program - Industrial Engineering Department – Nanotechnology and Biomaterials Application and Research Center – Bioengineering Department). He is working since 2011 in Bioengineering Department. He got his Assoc. Prof Degree from Engineering Sciences and Prof. Degree from Bioengineering.

Expert on plasma spraying process of bioceramics on titanium, Bioactivity studies of bioceramics, Studies about porous hydroxyapatite and bioceramic structures, Forming of hydroxyapatite and other bioceramic composites, Preparation of drug delivery systems and follow up, Cell Culture, Scaffolds for tissue engineering and applications, Nanomaterials, Nano-biomaterials, Archeology studies of ancient skeletons, PLD - Plasma Laser Deposition, MAPLE - Matrix Assisted Laser Deposition, Biomimetics, Electrospinning, Nano-biopolymers, Biopolymers, Hip implant manufacturing and applications for pets
