Biography

Dr. Hans-Jurgen Biersack is the Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Nuclear Medicine of the University of Bonn. He received his medical degree from the University of Bonn in 1972. Dr. Hans-Jurgen Biersack became Dean of Faculty of Medicine at University of Bonn in 1988-1990. He was a President of German Society of Nuclear Medicine and World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology from 1992 to 1998. Dr. Hans-Jurgen Biersack had reviewed for Am. J. Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, and gut and is currently on the editorial board of more than 20 journals. Dr Hans-Jurgen Biersack has over 600 published articles from which above 400 PubMed-Medline publications, 650 abstracts and 310 book chapters with 35 books. Dr. Hans-Jurgen Biersack research interests include Nuclear medicine in the diagnosis of diseases of the liver, the heart, the skeleton and the brain; Diagnosis and therapy of thyroid diseases; During the last 10 years mainly brain research (neurophysiology, epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, brain tumors); Coordination of an interdisciplinary group on brain research (Faculties of Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Philosophy); During the last 6 years PET / CT and SPECT / CT in oncology as well as radionuclide therapy in NET, SO-Ca and liver tumors (SIRT).
