Biography

Dr. Hyung-Mun Yun was born in South Korea on February 22, 1982 and completed his PhD degree in School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Korea University in 2010. His professional experiences are: Research Scientist (Biomedical Research Center, KIST), Post-Doc., (College of Oriental Medicine, Kyung Hee University), Post-Doc., (Keck school of Medicine Center for Stem cell and Regenerative Medicine, University of Southern California), Invited Associate Professor (College of Pharmacy, Chungbuk National university), and Research Professor (Research Center for Tooth and Periodontal Regeneration, School of Dentistry, Kyung Hee University). He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Dentistry, Kyung Hee University (2016 – present). 

Research Interest

Dental pulp stem cell self-renewal and differentiation, Bone metabolism, Oncology, Neuroscience, and GPCR signalling.

Research:

1. Study about cell fate determinants underlying the self-renewal and differentiation of dental pulp stem cell (DPSC) differentiation

2. Discovery of novel genes and leading substances to regulate bone metabolism disease and bone regeneration

3. Understanding pathological phenomenon between the central nervous system and bone

4. Role of serotonin receptors (5-HTRs) in the animal disease model and identification of new drug target
