Biography

Noemi Scarpato is Assistant Professor at Telematic University San Raffaele Roma since 2010 where she teaches Computer Science, Data Mining and Math both for graduate and undergraduate programs. Noemi Scarpato received her degree in Informatics Engineering in 2008 with a dissertation titled "Development of a framework for the Semantic Bookmarking in a shared environment". Dr Scarpato earned a PhD in artificial intelligence in 2012 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata with the thesis”Knowledge-Based Visualization Systems”. She worked with the ART Research Group (University of Rome, Tor vergata) for the implementation of Semantic Turkey (http://semanticturkey.uniroma2.it/) a platform for Knowledge Acquisition and Management of linked data. She also serves in many University commissions for the monitoring and evaluation of degree and phd programs activities. Dr. Scarpato’s publications in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Machine Learning and System Design have an international coverage: she has 22 publications with 98 citation and an H index of 7. In 2008 she won a research award for the Telethon project N.GGP06048, assigned by the Telethon Foundation for research activities concerning the system design of the Gefor system (Use case model, analysis model, design model, implementation model and deployment of the Gefor system). In the 2009 Dr. Scarpato received a scholarship for research in "NLP in Public Administration" at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". During her internship at the ESA-ESRIN (European Space Agency) she performed a study on "Developing of an Earth Science Ontology”. In the 2015 Dr Scarpato was been project manager of the European project PANOPTESEC (grant agreement No.610416, European Union Seventh Framework Programme FP7/2007-2013).

Research Interest

Research interests include IoT, NLP, data mining, machine learning, Semantic Web and Linked data visualization.
