On completion of a MSc. at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr. Obembe was recruited to serve as Associate Professor at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He has been awarded international fellowships, which gave him doctoral and postdoctoral training opportunities at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Wageningen University and the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. He was appointed Senior lecturer at Covenant University in 2007 after a brief service at the Bells University of Technology. Dr. Obembe has numerous international links and is a member of the Society for Environmental Education and the Biotechnology Society of Nigeria. He has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international journals. He is on the editorial board of the India Journal of Science and Technology, the International Journal of Biotechnology Applications and the journal of Microbial and Biochemical Technology.
