Biography

After completing my Masters in Botany from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly in 2001, I got interested in an emerging field of cereal genomics and bioinformatics and pursued my PhD at CCS University, Meerut on the development of functional DNA markers and understanding of wheat gnome organization. I graduated in 2006, and immediately after graduation I moved to Pullman, Washington to work on a USDA funded project initially in the capacity of Visiting Scientist and later as Research Associate (2006-2010). Since 2010 I am affiliated with WSU as an Assistant Res. Professor in the Department of Crop & Soil Sciences. My research involves components of applied and basic sciences, where the former includes nutritional genomics, bio-farming, molecular basis of herbicide resistance, and the later involves understanding mechanism of meiotic homologous pairing, genetic dissection of agronomical traits, and study of genome organization. In this research both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plant species were used

Research Interest
