Yuehua Huang, MD, PhD. is Professor and Director in the Department of Infectious Disease and Hepatology Institute, the Third Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou China. Dr. Huang is also Director of Laboratory of Liver Disease research of Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Huang obtained her degrees of medical bachelor, Master and PhD from Guangzhou Medical University, Sun Yat-sen Medical University, and Nanfang Medical University, respectively. Her hepatology training is under Professor Anna Suk-Fong Lok at the University of Michigan, USA. After training, she was back to the Sun Yat-sen University in 2012 and serves as faculty and above positions. Dr. Huang’s research focusses on the natural history and treatment of hepatitis B and C, and the prevention of liver cancer. She is also the lead of clinical trials of Dendritic Cells vaccine (DC vaccine) combined conventional therapy in hepatitis B and the associated liver cancer. Her research is funded by the Natural Natural Science Foundation of China, National Grant program on Key infectious disease-AIDS and viral hepatitis, and Major Project of collaborative innovation of Guangzhou Science and Technology. She has published nearly 100 papers on viral hepatitis and liver diseases and is the new Chief of Liver Disease Branch, the Asia-Pacific Association of Medicine and Bio-Immunology. Dr. Huang has received many awards and recognitions throughout her career. As a doctor, she won certificates and medals “The Hero of Fight against SARS”. As a teacher, she has been in the list of “Best lecturers in Medical school”. As a scientist, she was awarded as “Young Investigator Award” in her earlier years, funding by the international association of liver disease. Later on, she was granted as “One Hundred Talent” by Sun Yat-sen University and Guangdong province of China. She supervised her team members to be awarded at the “International HBV molecular meeting” funded by HBV foundation in USA for 4 times, through 2014-2017. She was also the reviewer of Oncotarget, Scientific Literature, and Chinese Journal of Hepatology.
