Biography

Timir Datta is a Professor in the Physics & Astronomy department at the University of South Carolina, Columbia in 1991. He was the Visiting Professor in Electrical Engineering department at Nebraska at Lincoln in 2000. He joined the Visiting Research Professor in Physics department and NSF Superconductivity Sc & Tech Center at University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign in1990. He was the Associate Professor in Physics & Astronomy department, USC at Columbia in 1987-1991. He joined as the Assistant Professor in Physics & Astronomy department, USC, 1982-1986 and he is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Physics & Astronomy department at Tulane University in 1981-1982. He has received his Post-Doctoral (NSF) Research Associate in Physics & Astronomy Department at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1979 –1981. He has completed his ph. D in Experimental Condensed Mat at Tulane University in 1979. He received Pre-Doctoral (NASA) Research Associate from Jet Propulsion Lab in 1975-1978. He received his Masters in Plasma Theory at Boston College in 1974 and completede his Undergraduate in physics at Calcutta University in 1969. He has authored over 100 peer reviewed research articles and two chapters two books.
Honors and awards : • Recipient “Gold key of the City of Columbia”, presented by the Mayor, Bob Coble, November, 2009.
• “Best New Idea” citation, Technology Review of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Do Quantum Systems Break The Equivalence Principle? (arxiv.org/abs/0908.3885) August, 2009. • Winner - First prize for best research paper at the 19 th Army Science Conference, Orlando, Florida, June, 1994. • “Hot Paper” citation, The Scientist, T. Datta et al for Apld. Phys. Comm 8, 139 (1988) April 3, 1989.
• Winner – Honorable mention, T. Datta and J.L. Safko, Disordered Gravitation: Localization and Diffusion Limited Dynamics of The Early Universe, Gravity Research Foundation, 1994.

Biography

Dr. Ihsan A. Shehadi earned his Bachelor\\s degree from the American University of Beirut, Beirut-Lebanon, and the Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from Northeastern University, Boston. Currently he is an associate Professor of physical Chemistry at University of Sharjah. Dr. Shehadi\\s main research interests and activities are in the areas of physical chemistry, computational Chemistry, heterogeneous/homogeneous catalysis and chemical.

Heterogeneous and homogeneous Catalysis and their applications to petroleum petrochemical industry, Physical chemistry, Computational chemistry and Chemical Education.
