Reactive Attachment Disorder

Reactive attachment disorder is on of the few disorders rare but serious condition in which an infant or young child doesn't establish healthy attachments with parents or caregiversand and results in an inability for the child to form normal, loving relationships with others.Attachment develops when a child is repeatedly soothed, comforted, and cared for, and when the caregiver consistently meets the child's needs.

Oxytocin levels did not differ between men and women. Oxytocin levels were positively associated with the experience of an adverse event versus no event, in securely attached but not in insecure participants.Oxytocin was positively associated with diminished stress among securely attached participant. Among participants who reported minimal suffering, insecure individuals had lower oxytocin than securely attached individuals.
