    Introduction: Secondary hypertension or also termed as inessential hypertension is a type of hypertension which may be caused by an identifiable underlying secondary cause. It is a type of hypertension with a potentially correctable cause. It has many different causes including endocrine diseases, kidney diseases, and tumors. It also can be a side effect of many medications. The symptoms are flushing and sweating suggestive of pheochromocytoma.

    Symptoms: The traditional definition of high blood pressure is a systolic blood pressure (the higher of the two blood pressure numbers) is 140 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) or above, and the diastolic blood pressure (the lower blood pressure number) is 90 mm Hg or above. People with secondary hypertension often have blood pressure that is more difficult to control with one or two medications. Also, there can be other symptoms related to the medical illness that is causing the hypertension.
