IBC is considered one of the most aggressive and invasive of breast cancers. The overall survival rate for IBC patients is 40% for 5 years and 20% for 10 years compared to 87% for all breast cancers. Unfortunately, the incidence of IBC has been steadily increasing over the past decade, with more women presenting with the disease, being misdiagnosed, receiving inappropriate treatment and dying.
Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views.
