Research Interest

Aruna Turaka′s research interests are: Lung cancer involving the stereotactic body radiation therapy both for the primary and metastatic disease along with the role of different radiation therapy techniques for the resectable and unresectable NSCLC. Also, she is part of the clinical trials involving the use of targeted agents in the treatment of LANSCLC with concurrent chemoradiation therapy at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She has developed a database of the treatment of Head and neck malignancies with IMRT at FCCC during her fellowship, presented data at several national meetings and published in peer/non-peer reviewed journals.  she has also developed a database on ocular lymphoma and extra-nodal lymphoma and published/presented her work at different meetings. As a junior faculty at FCCC, she developed a database on the treatment outcomes for the Merkel Cell Carcinoma and presented abstracts in collaboration with the multispeciality teams at FCCC. Presently, she is developing a database on the SBRT outcomes for both the primary and metastatic lung cancer.  she has been given merit awards at national meetings for the H&N, Lymphoma presentations.

Lung and Lymphoma

3. What are attributes for a quality article?
Manuscripts supporting the research based on randomized studies and innovative techniques.

4. Do you have any research funding (NIH or other national funding) now?
No

5. When did you become an editor of OMICS Journal?

6. Where can the journal find the maximum scope in terms of niche?
Not sure of the question

7. What is your greatest career accomplishment?
NCI-LCWGC member (Lung working group committee member at NCI).

8. How does the published scientific content assist the potential researchers?
To design new trials/studies.

9. What is the purpose of serving as an editor?
Learning to be a leader, improve the research skills from broader variety of specialties, learning to be patient, calm and honest.

10. Do you have any patents?
Not sure what it means

Yes, many

Yes, after my board exams at the end this month.

so far excellent

14. Your opinion on conducting Editorial Board meetings at related Conferences?
I am looking forward to it, never attended so far.

15. Would you recommend OMICS to your friends or colleagues?
Yes, to all my colleagues, nationally and internationally.

16. How do you differentiate Journal of Nuclear Medicine & Radiation Therapy with other journals in the field?
We need to get the NIH publishers permission to make it pubmed release with impact factor given to the articles.
