Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection caused by the species mycobacterium, hence it is also called as mycobacterium tuberculosis. The target organ affected is lungs. It is a contagious disease and transmits through air while the infected patient coughs and sneezes. TB can be remained in the body years together without showing any symptoms.
