    JPFS can be chronic in nature and can necessitate a multidisciplinary approach to the ongoing treatment of the disorder. The pain experienced is modulated by factors such as activity, anxiety, stress, and weather changes. Juvenile fibromyalgia is a disorder of musculoskeletal pain characterized by multiple discrete tender points (TPs), fatigue, and sleep disturbance in the child and adolescent. 

  • Juvenile Fibromyalgia

    In Mexico, Fibromyalgia was diagnosed in eight Diabetes Mellitus patients (13%) and in only one (2%) healthy control (P=0.008*). Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus patients with Juvenile Fibromyalgia had significantly a higher mean regarding number of tender point than those without Fibromyalgia (6.38±1.5 vs. 3.21±1.4, respectively) (P<0.05)
