Adjuvant Therapy

Adjuvant therapy refers to the treatment given in addition to the main treatment. These are important in dreadful diseases like malignant cancer. After removal of malignant cancer by surgery, still some residual tissue of malignant cell still remaining which leads to the spread of cancer. Thus, in order to avoid such consequences many doctors prescribe adjuvant therapy to increase long-term disease-free survival of the patient. Chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, radiation therapy, Immunotherapy, Targeted therapy is considered as adjuvant therapies. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review.
