Adjuvant therapy refers to the treatment given in addition to the main treatment. These are important in dreadful diseases like malignant cancer. After removal of malignant cancer by surgery, still some residual tissue of malignant cell still remaining which leads to the spread of cancer. Thus, in order to avoid such consequences many doctors prescribe adjuvant therapy to increase long-term disease-free survival of the patient. Chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, radiation therapy, Immunotherapy, Targeted therapy is considered as adjuvant therapies.
