Written by Azizi Yahaya, Shahrin Hashim, Yusof Boon, Jamaludin Ramli and Nurul Ezzati Azizi, this book explains the problem behavior among adolescents to be taken seriously by all parties. Teenagers are easily influenced and they often act on those feelings. Social problems are subjective and can change according to circumstances, place and time. Thus, the initial perceptions and concerns of both parents and teachers to identify the causes and symptoms of adolescent behavior can prevent the occurrence of various social ills in society nowadays. Therefore some of the methods discussed in this book will serve as a reference and guide for all parties to help teens who have behavioral problems in life.
This book contains some theory suitable to be applied by the reader to face the problem of adolescent behavior that has become a hot topic. In terms of teaching and learning in the classroom, this book can help teachers to understand the behavior of young people in the process of development and juvenile growth of the spiritual and physical fitness. Teenagers are easily influenced and they quickly excited and decide to act with feeling and not thinking. By understanding them, readers can find out the cause of teens have treatment deviating from the norms of society.
In teaching and learning, this book also discusses findings about bullying, sun, delinquency, truancy, gangsterism and other aggressive behavior. In this way the reader is confronted with aggressive behavior problems students can provide care and special attention to the spirit of the students involved so that they can be changed to the desired behavior. The book also discusses the problem of bullying that provides enormous implications for the safety and emotional students. The school, especially the teachers needs to be aware of this problem in schools. Perception as well as their concerns in identifying the cause and the first signs of bullying is very important for prevention and intervention strategies to address the problem of bullying in schools.
The book also discusses the social problems that give an overview of the various unhealthy struck teens in Malaysia. Social and psychological problems among teenagers have caught the attention of many people. Social problems are subjective and can change according to circumstances, place and time. The report published by local mass media report a lot of load on unhealthy struck teens in Malaysia. This book is not only written for filling academic requirements but also to fill the needs of the general reader, especially educators and those involved in educational organization. The book is expected to be a reference and a useful reading for prospective teachers take a course of education in all educational institutions and university in Malaysia. Overall, this book contains 12 chapters and corresponding read by educators, coaches in college and university as well as individuals who are interested in psychology.
The rapid development of the world in the era of globalization brings some changes in the structure of society, especially in the family institution. In Malaysia, the climate of the family institution is not immune from the changes. In the past, large families are able to create an effective support system, but now the trend in Malaysia more focused on family basis. According to estimates, in 2000 the types of families in Malaysia have been more focused on basic family type that is made up of mother, father and child. Basic family types represent over 70 percent of households in Peninsular Malaysia compared with 64 percent in 1991.
Both husband and wife work outside the home is a common scenario in the family foundation. Thus the problem of child care and the challenge of balancing the pressures in the workplace with regard to the family is a frequent problem. This situation led to the fragility of the family institution and invite abandonment of responsibility by the parents. This phenomenon contributes to the increase in the number of juvenile crimes in Malaysia. This scenario is a growing concern as the country relies on a group of teenagers who are the heir and leading to prosperity and the country’s leadership in the future. Parents are the people who should be respected by the children. The role of parents is very big in the construction of the family. Construction of a family walking on the implementation of obligations by both of them.
