This current issue contains editorial and research articles with relevant content in several health areas, from the academic area to the care of ill patients namely during the perioperative period. The reader, trough the reading of abstracts and full text of the articles, can reflect, analyze and expand knowledge.
Here are some highlights:
The academic area regarding nursing context is presenting the prebriefing as an important part of educational process . Thereby it takes the student to the reflection and to use it in future situations. Because this strategy can help to contribute to evidence-based practice and higher quality health care.
Other research bring as topic the importance of the understanding of unity of human body, specially on patient with cancer, because every man being is not only physic but is composed for other aspects too .
Other article analyzes the aging as an epidemiologic phenomenon we are facing and we need to consider different aspects of this universe of the elderly. In addition, the children health is important too, in this research the authors discuss critical issues in the treatment of pediatric status asthmaticus .
Finally, there are researches regarding the perioperative period, with focus in preoperative blood pressure measurement and management , procedural sedation and the risk of hypoxemia , including recommendations to administer an adequate fluid therapy for pediatric patients, and the importance of tools in nursing care in the post-anesthesia care unit .
We wish you to enjoy the texts presented and that somehow contribute in the transformation of our action in the clinical part.
