As Editor-in-chief, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to Malaria Chemotherapy Control and Elimination (MCCE) journal. MCCE journal is a member of the OMICS Group which is “committed to disseminate research output to the scientific community without any hassle. Articles published under OMICS Banner are freely available throughout the world, ensuring the author’s presence through his/ her contribution worldwide”. Clearly, Open Access publications have become the new normal in our digital age and MCCE journal was established to accommodate rapid and accessible publications which will benefits the researchers and the scientific community. MCCE is a peer-review journal which will depend on contributions from members of the editorial board and the scientific community at large. Of course, fast peer review process and speedy publication will not compromise the validity of the review process. It is with full certainty; I can assure the contributors and the readers of MCCE that all manuscripts will be subjected to a vigorous review by well-qualified, accomplished and well-cited independent reviewers. The independent reviewers will be identified by members of the editorial board based on research expertise and accomplishments related to manuscripts under review.
Malaria is an ancient life-threatening blood-borne disease transmitted by a mosquito carrying the plasmodium parasite. Although there are more than 100 species of the parasite, Plasmodium falciparum is considered the most virulent and deadly species which can be transmitted from person to person through the female Anopheles mosquito. The female mosquito preference of biting the host is during night time leading to the malaria symptoms within short weeks depending on the infected dosage. The disease is serious and kills millions of people annually especially in Africa. Early diagnosis of the disease is essential for recommendation of effective therapy. There is serious need for discovery of effective drugs and development of long-term protective vaccine. The latter is the ultimate solution for prevention and control of malaria.
MCCE journal, as the title truly reflects, is established to become a pioneer journal to assist disseminate new discoveries and breakthrough findings in the malaria field to all researchers and clinicians to better the life of all humans especially those who live in affected geographic regions. Moreover, MCCE journal will also welcome manuscripts with novel data about other parasites, tropical diseases and relevant area of biological and biomedical research. It is my privilege to invite you to submit your manuscripts for consideration to be published in MCCE and encourage you to submit nominations for the limited available positions on the editorial board.
