Antimicrobial Evaluation of Imines and Thiazolidinones derived from Ethyl 4-(3-oxoprop-1-ynyl) benzoate
Purpose: The article is aimed to synthesize, characterize and screening the biological activity of a series of -4-(2-methylpyrimidin-4-yl)-N'-(4-(trifluoromethyl/Nitro/bromo/methoxy/methyl)benzylidene) benzo-hydrazide4(a-e)and4-(2-methylpyrimidin-4-yl)-N-(4-oxo-2-(4Trifluoromethyl/Nitro/ bromo/ methoxy/ methyl)phenyl)thiazolidin-3-yl) benzamide 5(a-e). Methods: The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and IR, 1H-NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral data. The antimicrobial activity of the novel compounds was screened by disk diffusion method. Results: 4a, 5a, 4b and 5be have shown better Anti-microbial activity than other compounds of the series.
