Comparison of Soft Computing Techniques for the Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna: A Review Paper

This paper describes different computing techniques for the design of Microstrip patch antenna. The performance of antenna is greatly influenced by the choice of technique used to design antenna. In this paper three different soft computing techniques are presented and compared. The most recently used techniques Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), Fuzzy Logic (FL) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) are described. Antenna design is simulated for all three techniques and result is compared with each other. ANFIS is the most efficient technique to use. As far as number of training data set is concern ANFIS requires small data set and hence ANFIS provides optimization too.
