Abstract

This compilation addresses burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary traumatic stress among nurses, particularly forensic nurses, in mass-casualty and high-trauma environments. It synthesizes current evidence on effective interventions, highlighting individual strategies like mindfulness, self-care, and stress management training. Crucially, it emphasizes organizational support, peer networks, structured debriefing, and trauma-informed care for building resilience and promoting well-being. These strategies are vital for mitigating the psychological burden, enhancing coping mechanisms, and ensuring sustained professional capacity in demanding healthcare settings.
