Achilies tendinitis is a condition caused by overuse injury of the Achilles tendon results in the pain near the heel. Although Achilles tendon, the largest tendon of the body can withstand heavy stress but also prone to tendinitis because of overuse and degeneration. This disease is more common among the athletes.
The symptoms can vary with swelling and pain to the local area of the affected limb. Some common symptoms of the disease are pain, stiffness, burning and swelling which worse during and after activity. Several patients report traumatic situations in their survival in association with the beginnings of pain which may contribute to the symptoms.
