    Non-polio enteroviruses are small RNA viruses that belong to the family Picornaviridae that spread among people by secretions from the gastrointestinal tract or sometimes by respiratory infections. Non-polio enterovirus infections cause symptoms and signs such as sneezing, mouth blisters, and fever. Symptoms and signs of EV-D68 infection include rash, cough, and breathing problems. The vast majority of cases of non-polio enterovirus infection do not cause symptoms or cause mild illness with an excellent prognosis.
