Introduction: Secondary hypertension or also termed as inessential hypertension is a type of hypertension which may be caused by an identifiable underlying secondary cause. It is a type of hypertension with a potentially correctable cause.In most cases of high blood pressure (hypertension), there is no known cause. About 6% of the time, however, high blood pressure is caused by another condition or disease. When this happens, it is called secondary hypertension.
Symptoms: People with secondary hypertension often have blood pressure that is more difficult to control with one or two medications. Also, there can be other symptoms related to the medical illness that is causing the hypertension.Secondary hypertension is an underlying condition which is causing the high blood pressure. Identifying and treating the main cause of condition should bring blood pressure down to normal levels.
Statistics: In Poland according to General prevalence for Secondary hypertension in men is 1.3 percent and 1.0 in women and prevalence according to age 18-24 years is 1.0 percent and aged 25-44 years is 1.6 percent.
