Industrial pollution is the pollution which can be directly linked with industry. This form of pollution is one of the leading causes of pollution worldwide. There are a number of forms of industrial pollution. Industrial pollution can also impact air quality, and it can enter the soil, causing widespread environmental problems.

Water Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the water body that disturbs aquatic environment. Water pollution affects the entire biosphere plants and organisms living in these bodies of water. Water pollution is a major global problem which requires ongoing evaluation and revision of water resource policy at all levels.

Soil pollution is when humans introduce harmful objects, chemicals or substances, directly or indirectly into the soil in a way that causes harm to other living things or destroys soil or water ecosystems. Soil pollutants include a large variety of contaminants or chemicals (organic and inorganic), which could be both naturally-occurring in soil and man-made. In both cases, the main soil pollution causes are the human activities.

Radioactivity refers to the particles which are emitted from nuclei as a result of nuclear instability. Because the nucleus experiences the intense conflict between the two strongest forces in nature, it should not be surprising that there are many nuclear isotopes which are unstable and emit some kind of radiation.

Pollution toxicology, otherwise called entox, is a multidisciplinary field of science concerned with the investigation of the destructive impacts of different substance, organic and physical specialists on living life forms. Pesticides are a major source of environmental toxicity. These chemically synthesized agents have been known to persist in the environment long after their administration.

Light pollution also known as photo pollution or luminous pollution is excessive, misdirected, or obtrusive artificial light. Pollution is the adding-of light itself, in analogy to added sound, carbon dioxide, etc. It includes adverse effects of artificial light sky glow, gare, light clutter, decreased visibility at night, and energy waste.

Noise pollution or noise disturbance is the excessive noise that may harm the activity or balance of human or animal life. The source of most outdoor noise worldwide is mainly caused by machines and transportation systems, motor vehicles, aircraft, and trains. Noise pollution affects both health and behavior.

Oxidative stress is essentially an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to counteract or detoxify their harmful effects through neutralization by antioxidants. Oxidative stress is likely to be involved in age-related development of cancer. The reactive species produced in oxidative stress can cause direct damage to the DNA and are therefore mutagenic.

A point source of pollution is a single identifiable source of air, water, thermal, noise or light pollution. A point source has negligible extent, distinguishing it from other pollution source geometries. The sources are called point sources because in mathematical modeling, they can be approximated as a mathematical point to simplify analysis.

Ocean pollution occurs when harmful, or potentially harmful, effects result from the entry into the ocean of chemicals, particles, industrial, agricultural and residential waste, noise, or the spread of invasive organisms. Most sources of marine pollution are land based. The pollution often comes from nonpoint sources such as agricultural runoff, wind-blown debris and dust.

Nonpoint source pollution is caused by rainfall or snowmelt moving over and through the ground. As the runoff moves, it picks up and carries away natural and human-made pollutants, finally depositing them into lakes, rivers, wetlands, coastal waters and ground waters.

Thermal pollution is the degradation of water quality by any process that changes ambient water temperature. Cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power plants and industrial manufacturers. When water is used as a coolant is returned to the natural environment at a higher temperature, the change in temperature decreases oxygen supply and affects ecosystem composition.

One of the greatest problems that the world is facing today is that of environmental pollution. Environmental Effects consists of five basic types of pollution air, water, soil, noise and light. Environmental pollution is the contamination of the physical and biological components of the earth to such an extent that normal environmental processes are adversely affected.

*2017 Journal Impact Factor was established by dividing the number of articles published in 2015 and 2016 with the number of times they are cited in 2017 based on Google Scholar Citation Index database. If 'X' is the total number of articles published in 2015 and 2016, and 'Y' is the number of times these articles were cited in indexed journals during 2017 then, journal impact factor = Y/X
