Abstract :

Dr.Thompson received his PhD from University of Alberta and he is professor of Biology and Associate Vice-president, Research at the University of Waterloo, his research interests include Biochemistry and molecular biology of programmed cell death: the molecular basis of membrane deterioration in senescing and aging tissues; comparative aspects of senescence and stress including the role of hormones and the involvement of free radicals; functional genomics of senescence and apoptosis. He is the Chief Scientific Officer for Senesco Technologies Inc., USA and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
