Abstract :

Disseminated herpes zoster is defined as a condition where there are more than 20 vesicles outside the primary dermatome. Disseminated herpes zoster is a complication of herpes zoster where there is a wider spread of lesions outside the primary dermatome area, the clinical picture of lesions resembling varicella. Patient with the decrease cellular immunity such as HIV patient which undergo bone marrow transplantation, leukemia, lymphoma, cancer chemotherapy and corticosteroid administration can show disseminated symptom on the skin and visceral organ. This disease tends to occur only in immunocompromised patients and is associated with involvement of internal organs such as pulmonary, liver, gastrointestinal tract and brain. Herein, we report one case of disseminated herpes zoster in a man, 71-years-old with no symptoms immunocompromised found. Clinical improvement achieved after the patient received treatment for 1 week with oral Acyclovir.
