Abstract :

WHO has predicted that the micro-organisms are becoming resistant to most of the antibiotic and the existing antibiotics will be no more in use to cure diseases in man and animals. WHO has also advised its member countries to explore and use the traditional wisdom for health management. The cow is a mobile medical dispensary. It is the treasure of medicines. Aloe Vera is a cactus like plant with green dagger shaped fleshy leaves filled with clear viscous gel and Wheat grass: young shoots of wheat were used in present study. Cow urine distillate and plant extract were prepared by standard procedures. In vitro evaluation of antibacterial activity on test micro organisms viz. Bacillus substilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Listeria monocytogens, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Eschericha coli and Salmonella Typhimurium was done. It was observed that cow urine distillate, Wheat grass and aloe vera inhibit the growth of bacteria at a concentration of 40 and 30 per cent respectively when used alone, however, when they were used in combination growth of bacteria was inhibited at 20 percent concentration. This indicates enhanced antibacterial activity of cow urine ark, wheat grass and aloe vera when used in combination, instead of using them alone. Cow urine with wheat grass and aloe vera is very effective antibacterial and comparatively cheaper than antibiotics.
