|Oral infections have threatened humans since the rise of human existing. Most of these have odontogenic origin which are very common. Most of the cases can be treated by tooth extraction, endodontic therapy or surgical treatment. However, prescribing an antibiotic may be necessary. The other infectious lesions are gingivitis, periodontitis, and oral manifestations of systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, syphilis. The aim of this study was to review the bacterial profiles associated with the oral cavity infections.|
Soussan Irani has completed her PhD at Griffith University, Australia in 2014. She has also completed her speciality (Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist) in 2001 at Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran. She has published about 25 papers in different journals. Her interest areas are angiogenesis in cancer and biology of metastasis.
