Abstract :

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a hereditary disorder affecting the elastic fibers in the connective tissue of the skin, eyes and cardiovascular system. Calcinosis Cutis is cutaneous calcification resulting from deposits of calcium and phosphorus salts in the skin. We report a 45 year old female Ethiopian patient who presented with multiple hyperkeratotic plaque lesions around the abdomen with oozing of chalk-like material diagnosed as pseudo-xanthoma elasticum (PXE) with dystrophic calcification after histopathologic evaluation.
