Intensive care, partly or completely is the term for all techniques applied temporarily instead of the organs and systems that lose their functions and the treatment of basic causes of diseases. For this reason, a close follow up of intensive care patients are significant. Mnemonics were determined for improving routine care of the critically ill patients. Mnemonic as FAST HUGS with ICU (Feeding, Analgesia, Sedation, Thromboembolic prophylaxis, Head of bed elevation, Stres Ulcer prophylaxis and Glucose control, Spontaneous breathing trial, Water Balance and constipation, Investigation and Results, Therapy, Hypo Hyper delirium, Invasive Devices, Check the daily infection parameters, Use a checklist) by Şenoğlu et al. in Turkey, was developed to follow up of intensive care patients. In this research, to state the benefits provided for nurses in daily follow up of intensive care patients within FAST HUGS with ICU short form in our country was aimed. The research consisted of 25 intensive care nurses. In addition to patient follow up in a monthly period, nurses that use daily patient control list (FAST HUGS with ICU) expressed that the list simplified patient follow up and it was more understandable and simply evaluated when compared with the other forms and a guide in nursing care plans. However, they also expressed the list had more limited context and it was the summary of the patient overall evaluation than the forms used currently. As a result, FAST HUGS with ICU) is offered for use in addition to follow up forms in intensive care.
