Abstract Share this page

Everyone who has investigated series of skeletons, whether col- lections of modern necropolis material or of archeological importance, has felt the great lack of data upon which some reliable estimate of individual age may be based. This same lack is felt also in cases of medico-legal importance and in those which come under the control of the coroner long after all superficial and currently utilized signs of precise age have disappeared through decay. We are able, by examina- tion of diaphyso-epiphysial junctions to make a fairly accurate esti- mate of age up to the commencement of adult life.
