Abstract In the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. One of the water mol-ecules is coordinated with the Zn(II) ion and this mol-ecule forms an O-H⋯O inter-action with the lattice water mol-ecule. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligand is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0242 Å). In the crystal, C-H⋯O, C-H⋯N, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present.
