Abstract Share this page

Abstract Basal cell carcinoma in black persons is generally believed to be rare, with cases only sporadically reported. Information about 148 basal cell carcinomas found in 128 black patients who were seen at Charity Hospital of Louisiana, New Orleans, between 1948 and 1979, was reviewed. As in whites, most of the tumors occurred on the sun-exposed areas of the head and neck.
