Objective To explore the correlation between coping style and quality of life in breast cancer patients during rehabilitative period. Methods 98 breast cancer patients during rehabilitation period admitted in our hospital from January 2004 to December 2010 were investigated by MCMQ and CARES-SF so as to analyze the correlation between coping style and quality of life. Results The scores in complying with and avoiding coping style were both higher than the norms (both P 0.01). The 4 items in actively accepting the coping styles were positively correlated with the total score. Complying with the coping styles was negatively related with the quality of life, and so it was with avoiding the coping styles with the item of physiolgoical dimension (all P 0.05). Conclusions Breast cancer patients in rehabilitation period are prone to complying and avoiding coping styles to deal with the disease. Those adopting complying with coping style have a worse quality of life than those adopting actively accepting coping styles. Corresponding nursing should be done to them so as to improve their quality of life.
