Abstract A total of 46 testicular biopsies were examined to define the histological characteristics of undescended testicle. Nine of the biopsied organs were normally positioned testicles from deceased pediatric patients (aged 2 months-14 years), and the remaining 37 were undescended testes from children with various degrees of cryptorchidism (aged 18 months-14 years). As reported by others, the degree of histological damage was directly proportional to the age of the subject. Close correlation between histological findings and the level of descent was not observed.
