Abstract In seven patients, peroneal nerve palsies developed while they were on weight-reduction diets. Five palsies were unilateral; two, bilateral. All patients recovered following diet modification. Therapeutic weight loss, of itself, can cause foot-drop. The prognosis is uniformly good.
