Abstract Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is described in two sisters, one of whom presented with autoimmune thrombocytopenia. Taken together with reports of platelet autoantibodies in PBC this case may indicate a place for immunosuppressive agents in the treatment of thrombocytopenia in PBC.
