Recently, Ling and Dybbs examined the effect of the variable viscosity on the forced convection flow past a horizontal flat plate which is embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium when the viscosity of the fluid is taken as an inverse linear function of temperature. In the present work, Ling and Dybbs' problem is extended when there is an internal heat generation placed into the fluid-saturated porous medium. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations by a similarity transformation. These equations are then solved numerically and the results are compared with those from the existing literature.
