Abstract We discuss 8 patients with hydatid cystic disease of the kidney. Diagnostic procedures included eosinophil count, Casoni's skin test, Ghedini-Weinberg complement fixation test, abdominal x-ray, excretory urogram, ultrasonography and computerized tomography. The combined findings of these different modalities aid greatly in establishing the correct diagnosis.
