Abstract Identifying pleasant activities for Alzheimer's disease patients is sometimes difficult due to their declining cognitive functioning. Such activities, however, may help to improve the patient's mood, reduce disruptive behaviors, and provide a sense of accomplishment. This paper presents an instrument, the Pleasant Events Schedule-AD, that can help both professional and family care providers identify and monitor activities that are enjoyable to individual patients.
